BRITISH PATROLS. FROM TOBRUK VALUABLE INFORMATION OBTAINED. (Rec. 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 1. “Our patrols at Tobruk again penetrated deeply into enemy lines on the night of July 30-31, and contact was again not made, but all patrols procured valuable information,” says a Cairo headquarters communique. “A daylight patrol operating yesterday, with great skill stalked and captured a prisoner, thereby securing the identification for which it had been dispatched. “The frontier area —our artillery engaged and inflicted casualties on working parties and mechanical transport in the Halfaya area.”
