HUNGER-STRIKE ABANDONED 9.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The hunger-strikers Ratcliffe and Thomas, yielding to pressure ‘by labour organisations, have discontinued their fast. They will probably soon be released. The men were advised to discontinue their fast on the ground “that no good purpose could be served by them in continuipg to endanger their lives.” ; This announcement was made by the special committee appointed by the New South Wales Trades and Labour Council to take charge of their case on behalf of the unions.
