DEFENCE REGULATION
CLARIFIED AND CONSOLIDATED. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 31. A clarification and consolidation of existing regulations is contained in the Defence Emergency Regulations, 1941, gazetted to-night. The main purposes of the proposed amendments are to provide for the enforcement of the provisions under which Territorials and other members of the defence forces, including units of the National Military Reserve, can be called out for military service in the defence of New Zealand, and also to impose on Territorials and other members of the defence forces, including units of the Military Reserve, and provide for enforcement of a further obligation to undergo such training as might be prescribed in Army Orders. Another iiortion of the regulations makes it an offence to fail to render military service or training required under the draft regulations, and persons who commit such offences are liable to imprisonment for three months or to a fine not exceeding £25 and,, if the offence continues, to a further fine of £5 a day.
