The recent seizure of 19 Japanese fishing vessels in Hawaiian waters represented a partial round-up of spies, says the United Press of America.
informers revealed that the crews included officers of the Japanese naval reserve. Some vessels were equipped with powerful radio transmitters, and complete sets of hydrographic charts of the Hawaiian islands. The vessels flew the American flag, but investigation revealed that the real owners were Japanese.
