SUM OF £332,156 EXPENDED. " "« (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 30. Approximately £332,158 was being spent on centennial memorial projects entitled to receive Government subsidies, according to the annual report of the Department of Internal Affair^. The amount of subsidy paid over on a basis of £1 for £3, as at March 31 last, was £83,039. In further reference to centennial activities, t'he report stated that some 200,000 trees had been planted by local bodies, institutions, individuals, ana other organisations.
