CLAIM BY MOSCOW NEWSPAPER.
UNNAMED BUT DESCRIBED AS “S”
DECIMATION OF GERMAN FORCE.
(United Press Association —Copyright.) (Rec. 11:20 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. According to the Moscow “Red Star” (the Soviet Army organ) Russian troops in a counter-offensive recaptured a city (the city is unnamed hut is described as “S”). The newspaper adds: “Superior German forces fled in disorder before attacks, froptal and on both flanks. The Russians pursued and decimated Germans with artillery fire and bayonet charges. The Germans abandoned a considerable quantity of cannon tanks and armoured cars.” AIR RAID ON MOSCOW. REPORT FROM STOCKHOLM BERLIN DENIES KNOWLEDGE
(Rec. 2.0 a.m). LONDON, July 20. Reports from Stockholm say that the Germans heavily bombed Mossow on Saturday, but the news is unconfirmed. The reports stated that the Kremlin was laid in ruins, and-that the Academy of Sciences and other cultural buildings were also destroyed, but the Moscow radio was still broadcastinglast night, and officials in Berlin saicl they had no knowledge of the rail.
