THE WAITEMATA SEAT.

BY-ELECTION ON JULY 19. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 7. When nominations for the Waitemata by-election closed at noon to-day, five had been received: —Mrs M. M. Dreaver (Official Labour), Messrs N. V. Douglas (Democratic Labour), W. B. Darlow (Independent), H. T. Head (retired farmer), P. R. Gardner (farmer). The by-election is to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Captain W. J. Lyon. The; election will be held on Saturday, July 19. The Minister for Agriculture (the Hon. J. G. Barclay) arrived from Wellington by the Limited to-day; and will take part in the campaign. The secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party (Mr M. Moohan) arrived from Wellington yesterday.
