RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE ASHBURTON UNION. PLAYING OF R, R. KIRKER. After hearing the explanation of the Hinds Club in connection with the playing of R. R. Kirker, a registered junior player, in a third grade niatcn against Technical Old Boys at Hinds, when his name appeared on the Hinds junior team list for the match against Mount Somers at Mount Somers on the same day, the Management Committee of the Ashburton Rugby Union decided last evening to take no action. The Hinds Club explained that Kirker had been persuaded, when he arrived at Hinds that day, to play lor the third grade team. Dwyer, of the. Methven Club, was regraded from junior to third grade. Mr F. Kennedy was appointed games controller at the Ashburton Domain for Saturday. Ashburton High School were granted permission to play Rangiorn High School at Ashburton next Tuesday, Timaru Boys’ High School at Timaru on Thursday, July 24, and St. Andrew t at Ashburton at a Inter date.
