DOG’S FATAL JUMP.
A FAITHFUL MASCOT. LONDON, April 16. A black dog jumped 80ft from the roof of a restaurant in a. Thames estuary town and had to he destroyed. Ho was tho mascot of a Royal Artillery battery, who had their mess in the restaurant and ho had marched with tho soldiers from their billots. Wandering round while tho soldiers wore feeding ho found his way to tho roof, and, looking over later, saw them assembling in the street for the march back. When the order to move was given the dog jumped.
