ENTERTAINMENTS.

ST. JAMES THEATRE. “THE HOUSE OF THE 7 GABLES.” Contrary to general belief “The ■House of the Seven Gables” has never before been filmed. That no Holly-, wood producer has ever placed Nathaniel Hawthorne’s immortal story before the cameras until the present is somewhat surprising, but that oversight has now been remedied. The picture is now completed and will screen to-night and Wednesday. When Universal discovered that the Hawthorne tale had never before been filmed it quietly began preparations tor its production. They did not want any other studio to beat them to the screen with it. Theatregoers will find few changes in the screen version of trie unforgettable tale and these only tor the sake of greater dramatic interest and screen-story-telling. The producers have .faithfully duplicated the historic House of the Seven Gables. The cast includes George Sanders, Alargaret Lindsay, Vincent Price, Nan Grey and Dick Foran. Aliss Lindsay appears as Hepzibah, Sanders as Jaffrey Pyncheon, Price as his brother, Clifford; Nan Grey as Phoebe and Dick Foran as Matthew Alaule.
