ST. JAMES,THEATRE. “Topper Takes a Trip” attracted a large and enthusiastic audience last night; laughter certainly held' sway as Topper found himself ini all sorts of compromising positions from “ectoplasm/.’ Roland Young and Constance Bennett arc starred, with Billie Burke and Allan Mowbray prominent ini the strong supporting cast. An excellent two-star hill is scheduled for Thursday and Friday with a thrilling spy story and a. detective mystery comedy. The gigantic undercover workings of foreign spy rings and the relentless counter-action of the secret service agents are told in Columbia’s “Smash-ing-the Spy Ring.” The film, as timely as to-day’s newspaper, is said to be based upon actual events in recent days. Ralph Bellamy and Fay Wray are co-featured. “There’s That Woman Again,” sec'ond of the Columbia. series with the private detective and his energetic but dumb wife, Will raise gales of laughter and appeal to lovers of detective mystery.
