WOOL APPRAISAL AT TIMARU TOTAL OF 8500 BALES • About 8500 hales of wool will be valued by the Government appraisers at the seventh wool appraisal of the season at Timaru which will commence to-day. Inquiries yesterday showed that a considerable amount of the wool had been in store early, hut some of the late shorn wool shows a lack of colour. Some of tho late shorn high country wool is showing signs of seeding, but generally speaking there should he an excellent showing, and the ivool should be up to the standard of previous appraisals. A further appraisal, arranged to take place in April, will he held in Timaru if there is sufficient wool offering; HAWARDEN EWE FAIR. 'Prices at the.Hawarden ewe fair yesterday were as follow, those at last year’s fair being also given.
