SHIPPING ADVISER.
REPRESENTATIVE OF BRITAIN APPOINTMENT IN NEW ZEALAND (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Sir Alexander Roberts lias, with the concurrence of the New Zealand Government, been appointed by the Ministry of Shipping in Britain as its representative in New Zealand His functions will be of an advisory character, the objects being to assist in obtaining the most economic use of shipping tonnage available. He will deal only with ships oyer which the Ministry exercises control and not with ships registered in New Zealand. The nppoinment is an honornsry one. Similar appointments have been made in Canada, Australia and the Union of South Africa.
