GIFTS TO SOLDIERS.
PRESENTATION AT FAIRTON. There was an excellent attendance at the Fairton Hall' last evening when Privates H. Price and F. T. Walley were presented with wristlet watches on behalf of the residents. Mr P. J. Mowat presided, and Mr F. Frampton representing the Ashburton County Council, made the presentation. The music for the dancing was suppuned by Mr P. Taylor. A Monte Carlo was won by Private and Mrs R. Mcßride.
