TIMARU TROTTING CLUB. PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW. The Timaru Trotting Club will hold its autumn meeting to-morrow. The fields are of a handy size and some good racing should result. Most interest will centre on the Nursery .Stakes, the first classic for two-year-olds and a probable pointer for the Sapling Stakes later on in the year. The track was in good order and there was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £18,508 10s, as compared with £15,566 on the first day last year. The stipendiary stewards concluded their inquiry into Dashing Cavalier’s form in winning the Autumn Handicap as compared with that in the Flemington Handicap. They disqualified the trainer, J-. W. IVldCurley, the jockey, J. Coutts, and the horse, Dashing Cavalier, for 12 months for alleged dishonourable action and improper practices in connection with the Flemington Handicap. The part-owners, Messrs F. W. Hughes and E. A. Coghlan, were exonerated. Dashing Cavalier is now ineligible to start in the Australian Cup. McCurloy has ono of the largest teams in training in Australia.
