(Received This Day, 10.0 a.m.)
MELBOURNE, This Day.
Three raihvaymen were killed and seven injured when two track-layers’ trucks overturned near Glengarry, Gippsland, yesterday afternoon. The men were being conveyed back to thenjob after luncheon on trucks drawn by a rail motor. Apparently one man moved to obtain a more comfortable position and in doing so fell off. The brakes were applied suddenly and the two trucks left the rails. Rescuers found three men dead. Deceased are Thomas Cleary, Edward Barwiek and Edwin Luscombe. The men were engaged in relaying the main Gippsland line. One of the injured men, Edwin Grant, is in a serious condition.
