British fighters in Greece in the last two days destroyed 10 enemy aircraft, states a Royal Air Force communique, which adds: “In south-west Albania yesterday a small patrol of our fighters encountered 20 enemy CR42 fighters. Our planes at once attacked and in less than a minute seven enemy aircraft were shot down. Later, during an individual combat, one of our fighters collided with another CR42, which crashed in flames.
“On the previous day fighters from the same squadron intercepted a formation of CR42’s, one enemy being shot down in flames while another disappeared behind some hills out of control.
“Bomber aircraft raided Santi Quaranta whence the destroyers that bombarded Corfu fled on the approach of our formation—and Durazzo and Elbason. From all these operations two of our craft failed to return, one being the fighter involved in a collision with an Italian plane.”—British Official Wireless.
