Trans-Tasman air-mail service closes at the Ashburton Post Office at 7 a.m., Tuesday, December 3. Trans-Pacific air-mail service closes at the Ashburton Post Office at 7 a.m., Thursday, December 5. Air mails within New Zealand close at the Ashburton Post Office; North bound—Monday to Friday inclusive, at 8 p.m.; South bound —Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. Overseas Mails (Outward). Mails for Australia and countries via Australia, will close at the Ashburton Post Office at 5 o.m. Wednesday, December 4. Mails for overseas will be closed and forwarded as opportunity offers. Christmas Mails. It is not possible this year to furnish closing dates of Christmas mails for overseas, but the following information is supplied:—America, November (last week); Australia, mid-December. Early posting is recommended in view of the uncertainty of transit time.
