MARSEILLES BOMBING.
LEGITIMATE TARGETS CLAIMED.
STATEMENT IN UNITED STATES (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 27. The Washington correspondent of the “Chicago Daily News,’ ’says that the British bombing of Marseilles is likely to lie merely the first serious attack, because Marseilles and other centres in unoccupied France are being filled with German war orders. At least 12, and probably 20, factories have accepted orders and others are expected to follow. The French have been ivarned that Britain considers such plants legitimate targets. FRENCH! PROTEST RECEIVED. (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 27. The protest by the French Government at Vichy against the alleged bombing of Marseilles lias reached London and is receiving the Government’s consideration.
