INDUSTRIAL COURT.
SITTING IN CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr J. A. Gilmour, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Industrial Magistrate s Court in Christchurch yesterday morning. Awards, in the terms recommended, will be. formulated for North Canterbury chaffcutters and balers, and for North Canterbury threshing-mill workers, it being stated that complete agreement had been reached in the Conciliation Council. Awards for Nelson, Westland, 'and Canterbury Electric Power Boards’ employees and for North Canterbury local bodies’ linesmen, inspectors, and servicemen will also be prepared after consultation between the parties on minor points of terminology. The cases of awards for threshingmil workers and chaffcutters and balers in South Canterbury were deferred for further discussions on the computation of wages with the 5 per cent, “cost-of-living” increase.
