FATAL INJURIES
YOUNG MAN DIES IN HOSPIEAL. H!S BROTHER ALSO HURT SKIDDING OF MOTOR-CYCLE Mr Cyril David Sutton, a married man, aged 24, of 11 Balfour Terrace, Christchurch, died in the Ashburton Public Hospital at nine o’clock this morning as the result oi injuries received when the motor-cycle he was riding with his brother'last evening skidded in loose shingle on the Main South Road north of Ohertsoy, throwing the riders heavily. The brother, Mr Allan Sutton, aged 19, of 8 Princes Street. Ashburton, and Waipara, North Canterbury, was also severely injured, and was admitted to hospital. The two men went to Christchurch yesterday to obtain a motor-cycle and the accident occurred on their return. The deceased was a locomotive fireman employed by the New Zealand Railways. Both the men suffered fractured skulls. Allan Sutton was reported this afternoon to be seriously ill. An inquest into the circumstances of the death of Cyril David Sutton was opened before the District Coroner (Mr E. C. Bathurst) this afternoon and after evidence of identification had been taken was adjourned sine die.
