SOLDIERS’ PARCELS.
DECISION AT METHVEN, The Mount Hutt District Patriotic Committee at a meeting at which Mr J. Carr presided, decided that all soldiers on active service overseas be sent parcels to the value of £1 and similar parcels to men in camp. Messrs Gadd, Wilson and the women’s committee were appointed to supervise arrangements for forwarding the parcels. It was stated that some difficulty was being experienced in procuring suitable gifts but there would be an increased amount given and this would be set from time to time as funds permit.
