Mails for Chatham Islands will close at the Ashburton Post Office at 7 a.m., Wednesday, November 27. Mails for overseas will be closed and forwarded as opportunity offers, Christmas Mqiis. It is not possible this year to furnish closing dates of Christmas mails for overseas, but tho following information is supplied America, November (last week) ; Australia, mid-December. Early posting is recommended in view of the uncertainty of transit time.
