YOUNG AIRMAN DECORATED. BRAVERY IN BURNING PLANE
(Received This Day, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 25. Flight-Lieutenant J. B. Nicholson, aged 23 years, a fighter pilot, received from the King this morning the Victoria Cross awarded him for bravery when, although wounded and liis plane on fire, he remained in the burning aircraft and attacked and shot down an enemy fighter. Flight-Lieutenant Nicholson received burns and was in spital for some time. The King had a long talk with, the airman in the private audience chamber, where the investiture took place.
