OUTPUT OF HIGH EXPLOSIVES.
CANADA HAS 15 NEW PLANTS. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) i OTTAWA, November 25. The Alhnitions Department announced that the production of high explosives exceeds one-third the full output scblsduled for the middle, of 1941. It has entailed the construction of 15 plants, several comparable with any throughout- the Empire. Over 10,000 persons were employed in the construction.
The pilesent programme provides for all necessary materials' to ; fill all shells, bombs and mines manufactured in Canada and permits the export of large quantities of explosives, and chemicals . overseas or to the United States. All projects should be under production in July. The Minister (Mr Howe) said that deliveries of single-engined training planes will he completed 15 months ahead.. After January companies will be enabled to devote their full facilities to the manufacture of other types.
