EFFECTIVE RAID
AERODROME AT STAVANGER. GREAT DESTRUCTION CAUSED LINES OF FIRES STARTED. (United Press Association—Copyright, i (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, November 22. “Coastal Command Hudsons heavily attacked Stavanger aerodrome early today,” states the Air Ministry. “The first aircraft scattered the .aerodrome and buildings with incendiaries and following aircraft added greatly to the destruction with a variety of bombs. Lines of fires were started, from some of which blue flames shot to a considerable height after staccato explosions. The targets were still burning nearly an hour after the bombing ended.” Describing the raid the Squadron commander who led the attack said: “It was as slick and effective a raid as I can ever hope to Ifb in.”
