ST. JAMES THEATRE. Guv comedy and daring adventure are entertainingly combined in the two feature programme showing finally tonight. In “Hard to Get” Dick Powell and Olivia de Hayilland head a grand bunch of funsters in Charles AVinninger, Allen Jenkins, Penny (“Blondio”) Singleton and Alelville Cooper. In “Green Hell” Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Joan Bennett are starred in an exciting story of an adventurous expeditionary trip through the trackless jungles of South America. “Song of the Plains” starring Nelson Eddy opens at the matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. In this lusty outdoor drama of the AVest Aletro-Gold-wyn-Alayer have surrounded the singing star with a prize star cast including Virginia Bruce, Lionel Barrymore, Edward Arnold, A T ictor AlcLaglen, Guy Kibbeo and Charles Butterworth, Picturesque in setting, stirring in patriotic motive, authentic in detail and thrilling in song “Song of the Plains” offers memorable entertainment, with Nelson Eddy singing “The Dusty Road,” “AVhen Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” “Pat, Sez He,” “Home Sweet Home,” “Love’s Serenade” and other rousing melodies.
