WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.
THE LAURISTON BRANCH. There Avas a- good attendance at the November meeting of the Lanriston Branch of the Women’s Institute. The president (Mrs J. A. Mackie) occupied the chair. Mrs T. C. McLachlan, of Barrhill, gave a most interesting talk on her experiences as a nurse during the Great War. On the motion of Mrs „W. Gimsoh, Mrs McLachlan was accorded a A r ote of appreciation.
An egg drive in. aid of St. Saviour’s Orphanage, Christchurch, Avas generously supported, approximately 40 dozen eggs being packed for the institution. ' ::r <
Competitions, judged by Alesdames T. C. AlcLachlan apd H. T. Crotliers, resulted:—Heaviest hqn eggs, Airs V. Boag 1, Airs C. A. Fyfc 2, Airs D. AlcFarlane 3. Bloom: Airs V. Boag 1, Aliss E. Maidens 2, Airs W, Gimson 3. Vase of flowers: Alesdames V. Boag and C. A. Fvfe (equal) 1, Airs D. AlcFarlane 3, Mrs AV. Gimson 4. The hostesses were Alesdames AY. Goodwin, C. A. Fyfc and Aliss T. Lethnm.
