THE SIXTY-FOURTH DISPLAY.

A SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE. THE CONCLUDING AWARDS. It was not only the excellent weather ' that made the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s sixty-fourth annual exhibition of. live stock, produce and domestic arts a great success, for the officials of the Association had spent a good deal of time and thought in the preparation of the exhibition, which w r as enjoyable from any angle or viewpoint. The weather assisted in no small measure in swelling the attendance. In the morning the conditions were ideal, but later there was steady cool breeze from the east, with a promise of rain in the clouds which piled up in the Avest, but the latter part of the afternoon Avas pleasant for patrons and for exhibitors and officials. ,•; Quality avus on a high standard among all sections of the# live stock group and there Avcre many outstanding animals. . Competition Avas very keen in all classes and the Association is to be congratulated on haA’ing issued a Schedule that proved to be so attractive to exhibitors. While there were many parts of the slunv Avhich proved decidedly interesting to hundreds of patrons, there AA'as no doubt that the- main judging rings Avorc the chief attraction. There, some very fine horsemanship Avas displayed and the hunting classes, as Avell as the pony events, Averc Avatched with appreciative attention. . , For all sections of the very large crowd which Avas on the ground there was something to interest, and it goes without saying that patrons thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
