STRICKLAND AND THE ALABAMA KID. AUCKLAND, November 7. Negotiations are'proceeding,to match Maurice Strickland, a former contender
for the world’s heavy-weight boxing title, with the Alabama Kid, who is classed among the leading light-heavy-weights in the world to-day, at Palmerston North on Boxing Night. The Alabama Kid has been offered by the Palmerston North Boxing Association £l5O, win, lose, or draw, but it is believer that he will request a straightout training purse and a percentage o c the gate. He will leave Auciian i to-night for Wellington to complete arrangements. It is understood also that he will insist on a 12 three-minute round bout.
