WEIRD RITES.
One of the last strongholds of savage headhunters is used as a scene for “Green Hell,” Famous Productions’ initial picture for Universal release. Douglas Fairbanks, jnr., and Joan Bennett are starred in this story of adventure -in that part of the upper Amazon country actually known as Green Hell. Here are found cannibal Indians, even to-day, who wear as ornaments, the heads of their foes, shrunken to the size of an orange.
Musical numbers in “Song of the Plains,” starring Nelson Eddy, include “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” “Dusty Road,” “Home Sweet Home,” and “‘Love’s Serenade,”
Gene Autry has a special iron plate on the corner of his walnut office desk, so that ranching hands can put their spurred feet on his desk without scarring it. Gene’s latest musical western for Republic, is “Colorado Sunset.” Smiley Burnette is featured in the cast.
