ITALIAN CLAIM
ADVANCE OF FIVE MILES.
TROOPSHIPS FOR ALBANIA.
RAIL SERVICE'S CUT
(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) ■LONDON, October 30.
The Italians claim to have penetrated five miles into Greece. Seven Italian troopships were seen making their way toward Albania. Reports arriving from Ankara lead to the belief that Turkey will remain non-belligerent.
The railway services between Turkey and Europe have ceased, believed to be due to congestion at the Greek junction at Phthion, resulting from the general mobilisation.
RESISTANCE BEING BROKEN.
THE ITALIAN COMMUNIQUE.
(Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 30
An Italian communique states: “Our troops continue to advance into Greek territory and everywhere to break the resistance of the enemy rearguard. The Royal Air Force raided Bardia and Tobruk, where there was slight damage. We repulsed two enemy attacks at Tessenel, in East Africa, and in the zone between ICassala and Sabde, with slight Italian losses.”
