WORK AT CHERTSEY. Mrs Bruce presided over the October meeting of the Chertsey Women’s Institute held in the Pendarves Hall. - A collection was taken up for gifts for Makogai and was well responded to. . , , Mrs Wisdom (Rakaia) spoke on her travels and her life in Chi^a. ACTIVITIES AT DORIE. The monthly meeting of the- Dorie Women’s Institute was presided over by Mrs McKie. The roll call was “Answer your neighbour’s question.” It was announced that the prize for most points in the home industries section of the last six months’ competitions had been awarded to Miss B. Sargent. Tire runner-up was Mrs J. Baxter. Hostesses were Misses J. Baxter and B. Morris.

STAVELEY BIRTHDAY PARTY. J Trophies were presented as follows at the birthday party of the Staveley Women’s Institute: Special prize for aggregate points, Mrs S. Bufton; cup for aggregate marks in handcraft section, Miss June Ogg; special prize for flowers, Mrs L. Bansgrove; youngest member taking part in competitions, Miss June Ogg. Items were given by Mesdames R. Biddick, J. Quantock, S. Mowat, and L. Bansgrove. Several telegrams were received from absent members.
