STILL ON FRONTIER.

« GREEKS RESIST STUBBORNLY. /. '' LONDON,October 29. Latest reports from Greece state that tlio Greek troops are still putting up a stubborn resistance against the Italian invasion, and have at some places actually carried the war into enemy territory. At the same time, the outbreak of revolt in Albania is believed to be causing the Italians embarrassment.

There is no sign so far that the main offensive, which the Italiaiis predicted would come to-day, has met with any greater success than yesterday. A communique issued by the Greek GeneTal Staff says that fighting is still limited to the frontier line.

A further proclamation issued by the Prime Minister (General Metaxas) enjoins upon the citizens of Athens a strict observance of all air-raid precautions. He mentioned the killing of 50 persons and the wounding of 100 others in the Italian bombing of the port of Patras, and said that these casualties occurred chiefly because people remained in the streets and neglected to take the most elementary preeautions.

,- Greeks everywhere are flocking to the colours. The 100,000 Greeks in Egypt are .forming an army of 20,000 volunteers, but it is not yet decided whether they shall remain to fight beside the British forces in the Western Desert, or go to fight in Greece.

Turkey has as yet made no official announcement of her attitude, but it is stated in Istanbul that no request for help has yet been received from Athens. Meanwhile the Turkish newspapers express Turkey’s determination to defend herself, and praise the spirit shown by the army of their 'ally.
