Despite extremely adverse weather conditions, which hampered operations, Royal Air Force bombers attacked a number of targets in Germany last night and also the Channel ports in enemy occupation. The Air Ministry communique states that attacks were made on naval bases at Kiel and Wilhelmshaven, oil plants at Gelsenkirchen and Duisberg, the Krupps works at Essen, several enemy aerodromes, anti-aircraft batteries and searchlight positions. The nightly offensive against the Channel ports from Ostend to Le Havre was continued. One of our aircraft is missing. Two enemy aircraft were destroyed yesterday in encounters over Britain. Two of our fighters were lost, hut both the pilots arc safe.
