RED CROSS SOCIETY.
THE WAKANUI SUB-CENTRE. Since its inception a year ago members of the Wakanui Sub-Centre of the Bed Cross Society have handed in 220 knitted articles, and 355 garments foi refugees, stated a report given by the president (Mrs F. Butterick )at a meeting of the sub-centre. It was reported that a substantial •profit had been made from a concert presented by Mrs Chapman and party and this would bo available for the purchase of wool and material for Bed Cross work. Mrs A. Ford was elected treasurer in place of Miss J. Greaves. Miss Greaves was presented with a bouquet from members. Four new members joined. Christmas parcels were dispatched for soldiers overseas.
