PUBLIC SAFETY REGULATIONS. OBSTRUCTION TO INDUSTR Y (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 30. Under the heading of “Obstruction of Essential Industries,” an amendment to the Public Safety Emergency Regulations, empowering the Attorney General to order the dismissal of any worker in the interests of public safety was gazetted to-night. The Minister may order the termin T ation of any employee’s engagement should he consider it necessary for t-lne effective prosecution of the Avar, or the maintenance of essential industries. The necessary notice may be served on either the employee or his employer, and the man concerned shall not >be ne-engaged by the same employer without'the Minister’s consent. The term , employee is held to cover the holder of any office in an organisation. The Attorney-General is also empoivered to exclude any person from being or becoming a member of any industrial union or association or other organisation of employers or ivorkers if he considers this necessary or expedient in the interests of public safety. Any. person so excluded! shall not be readmitted to the organisation, -without' prior written consent of the At-tomcY-Genieral. *
The right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration is provided. The Court may confii'm, modify, or reverse, a decision appealed from; but no decision shall bo reversed unless tine Court is satisfied that acts lvhicli the decision Avas intended to prevent are not likely to be committed.
