THE BURMA ROAD.
MAY BE REOPENED. CHINESE MINISTER’S PREDICTION CHUNGKING, September 30. The belief that Britain will soon reopen the Burma road to the passage of arms was expressed hv Dr. Oong Wenhao. Minister for Economic Affaifs. He said: “Britain must have realised that appeasement cannot, change Japan’s hostile attitude, as proved* by the new alliance.” The leading Chinese newspaper “Takungpao” says: “This latest action of Japan releases Britain from whatever treaty obligations she might have to Japan.”
