HEAVY ATTACKS.
MORE GERMAN WORKS. LARGE BOMBERS ACTIVE. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, September 30.. At Stuttgart, 260 miles away in western Germany, forces of heavy bombers launched attacks against a large coal and gas plant and the Bosch factory which produced magnetos, sparking plugs and other electrical equipment for the German services. A stick of heavy calibre bombs fell across the gasworks and caused 10 separate explosions, accompanied by brilliant w r hito flashes.
The Bosch works were subjected to 15 minutes of bombardment from varying heights. It is also believed to have been heavily hit, as a large fire was seen blazing in the area, as the bombing ceased. The aluminium factory at Bitterfeld, 20 miles north of Leipzig, and rail communication centres were, other targets in Germany successfully attacked during 'the night. Other night raiding forces were maintaining their pressure on possible invasion bases. They attacked shipping concentrations and harbours at Ostend, Flushing, Calais, Boulogne and Loricnt.
