A SECRET WEAPON.
PLANS LEFT. BY GERMAN.
IS FIND BY THE BRITISH.
LONDON, September 28
The “Sunday Express” says: “It is possible to reveal that Captain Eberhard Spiller, assistant German Air Attache in London before the outbreak of war, who has been killed in. an air battle over Britain, unwittingly allowed details of one of Germany’s secret weapons to .fall into British hands. When war was imminent, Captain Spiller, who was actually a spy, fled the country. Police searched his house in Hampstead and found details of a secret weapon which had fallen behind.a chest.
“Captain Spiller was among the members of the German Embassy staff who did not pay their debts before leaving Britain. The victims included many West End tradesmen, hotels, and restaurants. He also persuaded a neutral embassy attache to cash a valueless cheque the day before his departure.”
