ACTIVITIES AT ALFORD FOREST, The monthly meeting of the Alford Forest branch of the Women’s Division of the farmers’ Union was presided over by Mrs D. H. McLean. Mrs J. Stewart, of Methven, gaye a talk on box-making. Results of competitions were: Bloom, Mrs G. Bufton 1, Mrs R. Grigg 2, Mrs E. Grigg 3; vegetable, Mrs R. Grigg 1, Miss I. Durran 2, Mrs G. Bufton 3; shortbread, Mrs E. Grigg 1, Mrs G. Bufton 2, Mrs L. Hicks jun. 3; prettiest cup and saucer, Mrs R. Grigg 1, Mrs L. Hicks jun. 2, Miss I. Durran 3.
