ONE WOUNDED, ONE MISSING

(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The following Air Force casualties were announced to-dav:

Pilot-Officer John Gordon Pattison, seriously wounded in air operations, admitted to hospital and placed on the dangerously ill list. His father is Mr G. Pattison, Waipawa. Sergeant-Pilot Lindsay Douglas Anderson, missing in air operations. His mother is Mrs S. M. McLean, Wellington. -

PILOT REPORTED MISSING.AUCKLAND, September 26. A New Zealand airman, Pilot-Offieer Winton Sehvood Shann, has been reported missing as a result of operations on Wednesday, -according to advice received by his sister, Mrs D. McMillan, of Mission Bay. He was formerly employed by the Producers and Citizens’ Co-operative Assurance Company, Ltd., Auckland. Born in Christchurch 22 years ago, Pilot-Officer Shann is a son of Mrs N. Cooper, of Belfast, Canterbury. He was educated at the Christchurch Boys’ High School, where he rvas a prefect, and had an outstanding sports x-ecord, particulai'ly as a swimmer. On leaving school lie worked in a Government Office’"in Wellington before coming to Auckland. He gave up his Auckland position to join the Air Force, and after training at Wigram left for England last April.
