HOUSE ADJOURNS.

RECESS FOR THREE WEEKS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, July 13. In the House of Representatives this evening urgency was granted the passing of the Greymouth Harbour Board Loan Bill, the Supplementary Estimates and the Appropriation Bill. On the suggestion of the Leader of the Opposition, the Insurance Companies Bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. Mr Hamilton , said that such a course would enable fuller consideration of the measure by the interested parties. The vVppropriations Bill, making provision for the amounts voted in the Estimates, was then introduced and passed without discussion, Mr Poison remarking that the House was creating a record by passing £5,000,000 a second.

The Bill was through all its stages within eight minutes and the House rose at 12. S a.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, provided that should the. occasion arise in the meantime the Speaker will be empowered to call the House together.
