FAREWELL GIFT.

PRESENTATION AT MARONAN. A euchre party and dance in aid of funds for local soldiers’ farewells and comforts and a farewell to Mr Frank Aitken, who is leaving the district, was held in the hall. There was a good attendance. Cards played under the control of Messrs J. Davidson and E. Husband were won by Mrs L. Galletly and Mr R. McDougall. Mr Davidson and Mr L. Galletly spoke of Mr Aitken’s good qualities. Mr A. Chalmers endorsed the previous speakers’ remarks and presented Mr Aitken with a pocket wallet from his Maronan and Lismore friends, who wished him every success in his new home.

Supper was served by the ladies and a dance followed to music by Miss M. Whiting and Messrs J. Whiting and A. Chalmers. Mr V. Skilling was M.C.
