LADIES’ GUILD.

METHODISTS MEET AT METHVEN. The monthly meeting of the Methven Methodist Ladies’ Guild was bp Id at the home of the vice-president (Mrs Melville). Mrs E. A. Mangin presided over a good attendance. A motion of sympathy with Mr and Mrs Scott was carried hv members standing in silence. It was agreed to send the annual donation to the Foreign' Mission Christmas boxes. It was reported that a heater had been installed in the vestry. An interesting address on the Waitangi celebrations was given by the Rev. A. Mctßean. A competition for the best linen handkerchief resulted: Miss N. Iyermode 1, Mrs Kermode 2, Mrs Grieve 3. Enjoyable 'afternoon tea was served and thanks were accorded to Mr MeBean for his address and Mrs Melville for her hospitality. The hostesses Were Mesdames Melville and Grieve:.
