ALLEGED FIRING OF SHOT-GUN.

MAN CHARGED AT TAURANGA.

IN FATHER-IN-LAW’S HOUSE

The screaming of children and shots from a gun disturbed residents in Durhem Street at 7 o’clock last evening. Messrs Joseph and Allan Faulkner rushed into the residence of C. F. Mabey and found him struggling and endeavouring to wrest a gun from liis son-iurlaw, Andrew Ferguson. Mr IS. Snowden, who lives nearby, also rushed in and escorted Ferguson to the Police Station. Mabey, who is ap elderly man, suffered no injury. 4

In the Police Court this morning, Andrew Ferguson was charged with having discharged a double-barrelled shotgun at Charles Thomas Mabey with intent to do grievous bodily harm, also with having presented a firearm at Mabey.

On the application of the police accused was remanded till Friday.
