SPECULATION ON WHEREABOUTS (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) i NEW YORK, June 27. The Honolulu correspondent of the Associated Press says that the steamship companies report abnormal passenger bookings to the mainland, causing speculation that the major units of the Fleet might be proceeding to the Philippines. Presumably the bookings are by wives of navy personnel. Nevertheless, wholesalers in Honolulu continue to receive large orders from the Navy. A Washington cablegram dated June 25 stated : President Roosevelt declined to clarify the whereabouts of the United States Fleet, saying that there was no news of it. The main body of the fleet from Hawaii yesterday. A report from Honolulu o.n the same day said: The hospital ship Relief and one destroyer are the only ships remaining in Lnhaina Roads.
