THE ANNUAL TOURNAMENTS FINAL RESULTS YESTERDAY. The annual basketball and football tournaments of Ashburton County Primary Schools were held in the Ashburton Domain yesterday afternoon in beautiful weather. The grades were won as follows: Basketball, senior: Tinwald A; junior A, Borough A; junior B, Borough D. Open country, Rokeby. Football, seniors, town: Allenton A; country, Lyndhurst; junior, Ashburton East A; midget, town, Allenton A; country, Rakaia. The final results were:— Football. Seniors. Town—Final: Allenton A beat Borough A, 8-0. The winning team was: A. Johnston, K. Plunkett, A. Evans, V. Thomas, f N. Olds. A. Green, B. McDougal. Country—Final: Lyndhurst beat Rakaia 8-0. The winning team was; J. Rooney, J. Dwyer, D. Brown, I. Mangin, M. Buick, C. Dacre, B. Winn.
Juniors. Semi-final: Timvald*A beat Borough A, 3-0; Final: Ashburton East A beat Tinwald A, 6-0. The winning team was: C. Kenny. N. Hansen, A. Kerr, W. Heseltine, D. Menzies, J. Morrow, R. Gray. Basketball. Seniors—Final: Tinwald A beat Borough A 10-4. Junior A—Final: Borough A beat Convent A 3-2. The winning team was J. Willoughby, M. Kelly, K. Stewart, I. Lewis, B. Gowans, M. Stills, D. Marsden. Open country. Anal—Rokeby beat Eiffelton 5-0.
