PEACE OFFER BY GERMANY. GIBRALTAR AND SUEZ CONTROL. United Press Association.“-Copyright.! (Received This Day, 11 a.m.), NEW YORK, June 27. The Associated Press reports that important business sources with large interests in Europo have been informed through neutrals that it is believed authentically that Germany has made sensational peace overtures to England. It is indicated that the offer would leave 95 per cent, of her Empire, but would internationalise Gibraltar and Suez. The approach, it is alleged, was made through General Franco, Dictator of Spain. NOT LIKELY TO SUCCEED. OPINION IN WASHINGTON. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 27. Information that Germany has put out feelers for negotiation of peace reached diplomatic channels in Washington, but it is not believed they are likely to succeed.
