THE WEATHER.
PLEASANTLY SUNNY TO-DAY. The weather was again beautifully sunny to-day following a. frost of 7\ degrees, which was half a point lighter than the one yesterday. The sky was perfectly clear and there was scarcely any wind. The maximum, and minimum temperatures yesterday were 53.4 and 32.0 degfees, compared with 52.0 and 29.8 on Wednesday. The barometer has continued to rise. It registered 30.05 inches to-day and 29.86 inches yesterday.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon /to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation: An extensive anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Light to moderate winds from a westerly quarter. Some morning low cloud; weather otherwise fair to fine. Frosts again to-night, but temperatures rather milder to-morrow. Seas slight.
